The chemicals in marine vinyl, especially new, unseasoned white marine vinyl, are known to pull the dye out of certain fabrics, including darkly colored boat covers. So, if your beam is 96, the cover will cover the top of the boat, and down the sides about a foot all the way around. These will collect water.

This does that exceptionally well, as the pole provides a peak, but the straps provide 'ridge lines', sort of like on a roof, and sets up the water shed process beautifully. The disc that goes on the bottom does not have slots.
