First of all, there are hundreds or maybe thousands of brands and types of boat covers out there. If you boat has maybe a beam, then the cover will cover the top, and a little less than a foot all the way around.

Yet, water vapor can permeate it, so it will keep moisture out, but will not keep moisture in.
